Building Details
A well-maintained building, Belmont Chambers consists of (4) studio units (approximately 400 sq. ft.) intended for one person, (8) one-bedroom units (600 sq. ft.) which are available in two configurations and are intended for 1 to 2 people, and (4) two-bedroom units (800 sq. feet) intended for families and couples.
At a minimum, each unit has a floor to ceiling height of about 8 feet, carpeting or wood floors, linoleum in the bath and kitchen areas, a dishwasher (except studios), garbage disposal, cable TV hook-up (Xfinity and Fios are both options), common storage area, and energy-efficient heating and air conditioning (included in carrying charges). Four parking spaces are directly behind the building, and on-site coin-operated laundry facilities and bicycle storage are also available to all residents.
When the building was renovated in 1985 a number of features were included to make the building as energy efficient as possible. Some experimental features have not been supported over time but passive features such as the lobby design and the significant amount of insulation, as well as improvements in the efficiency of the heat pumps have maintained the building’s energy efficiency at a fairly high level.
Located diagonally across the street from the Symphony Road Gardens and steps from Symphony Hall, the Prudential Center, and Fenway Victory Gardens, residents have convenient access to the MBTA’s Green and Orange lines, and the #1 and #39 bus lines.
